Scout Neckerchiefs

The UK's Leading Manufacturer of Scouting Necker & Scarves

Manufacturing neckers, neckerchiefs & scarves for use with Scout Association uniforms since 1972

Welcome..

Warrens, a family-owned company founded in 1947, has a rich history of adapting to the evolving needs of its customers. What began as a kite manufacturing venture has transformed over the decades, producing a diverse range of products, from bedding and scarves to clothing and survival suits.

In the 1970s, Warrens made a pivotal shift into the Scout & Guide sector, where we became one of the last remaining UK manufacturers of neckerchiefs. This move led to the introduction of a uniform supply service in the 1990s.

As we continued to grow, Warrens expanded its offerings to include T-shirt and hoodie printing, embroidery, workwear, sportswear, corporate apparel, and, in 2009, school uniforms. Our commitment to excellence prompted the establishment of in-house printing and embroidery services, allowing us to provide a comprehensive selection of clothing for work, leisure, sports teams, schools, and Scouts & Guides. Moreover, we offer specialized clothing manufacturing and alteration services to meet the unique needs of our valued customers.

At Warrens, our dedicated staff, with their extensive experience, have been an integral part of our success for many years. We take pride in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring that each client's needs are met with the utmost care and professionalism.

Our Manufacturing Process

At our own facilities, all of our Scout neckerchiefs, scarves, and neckers are meticulously crafted from the moment we receive your order. Our skilled team of dedicated machinists, with a sharp eye for detail and quality, gathers materials, cuts, and sews each piece. Every neckerchief undergoes a rigorous quality check before being carefully packed and shipped directly from us.

We offer a vast array of options, combinations, and formats, including the ability to add logos, incorporate multi-color designs, utilize various cuts, and even include high-visibility or reflective inserts, all as part of the design and construction process. Although we have introduced some machinery into our processes, our commitment to quality remains deeply rooted in manual craftsmanship, ensuring that each neckerchief receives the utmost care from creation to delivery.

Typically, you can expect your order to be delivered within approximately two-three weeks from the date of purchase. If you have any specific requirements or would like to discuss your needs, feel free to reach out to us directly or pay us a visit in Stockport. In addition to Scout neckerchiefs, Warrens also specializes in logo printed workwear, embroidery, school uniforms, and a diverse range of other products.

Our Scouting History

On August 1, 1907 Lord Baden-Powell sounded an antelope horn and called 20 boys from a cross-section of society together to start an eight-day camp at Brownsea Island, Dorset, where a centenary gathering is currently being held.

100 years of scouting celebrated in Lyme Park, our home town of Stockport.
Lord Baden-Powel had no intention of starting a new movement and simply wanted to provide a programme of activities that other existing youth organisations could use. He was testing his ideas, unsure whether they would work.

Baden-Powell also has links with the famous Salford Lads Club, which he opened 100 years ago. The Scouts' links with Lyme Park date back more than half a century, and as far back as the 1930s campsites were set up in the park.

Charles Hamilton, Stockport Scout district chairman, said: "There was an incredible age range of people and it was overwhelming.

"People were emotional because it was a really lovely occasion and a special atmosphere.

"The movement started 100 years ago and the numbers did drop for a few years but they are getting back up now."

Have a look at these two photos we have taken from a scouting book issued to one of our very own (older) scouts. A member of 1st Romiley 1944 !
